What is a mirror

An image is an elastic cloud server template that contains the software and the necessary configuration, including at least the operating system but also application software (e.g., database software) and proprietary software. With an image, you can create a GPU cloud server.

Images are divided into public images and private images. The public image is the image provided by the system by default, and the private image is the image created by the user himself. Users can use public image or private image to apply for elastic cloud server flexibly and conveniently. At the same time, users can also create a private image from an existing elastic cloud server, which can quickly and easily start a new elastic cloud server that can meet all your needs. For example, if your application is a website or Web service, your image may contain the Web server, associated static content, and dynamic page code. So after you create an elastic cloud server through this image, your Web server will start.

Public mirroring
Private mirror	An image that contains operating system or business data, pre-installed public apps, and the user's private apps, visible only to the user personally. Private images include system disk images, data disk images, ISO images, and whole machine images, including: • System disk image: contains the image of the operating system and application software required by the user to run the business. The system disk image can be used to create a cloud server and migrate user business to the cloud. • Data disk image: An image containing only user business data. The data disk image can be used to create a cloud hard drive to migrate the user's business data to the cloud. • ISO image: Register the ISO file of the external image to the private image of the cloud platform. ISO images are special images that can only be issued as a temporary transitional cloud server. • Full machine image: also known as full image, contains the image of the operating system, application software and business data required by the user to run the business. The whole machine image is based on the difference backup production, compared with the same disk capacity of the system disk image and data disk image, the creation efficiency is higher.
